"Ah, is there?" Sure enough a quick examination of his clothing came up with the culprit, a feather lodged just inside the cuff of his sleeve that looked entirely out of place with his outfit. With a quick pluck it was sent fluttering off on the wind, The Cavalry Captain meeting his helper with a charming smile.

"The friendly little bird I'd stopped to chat with on my walk earlier must've left that behind and it might've become an embarrassing sight if I'd walked around with it stuck to me all day without noticing. Oh, how it would wound the pride of any knight to be seen as so unobservant and on top of that the color was rather ill-suited to me. Orange clashes so awfully with blue... but you have my gratitude, young lady! Might I, perhaps, know the name of my savior to thank you properly?"

"Hmmm, let me think about it." Wriothesley began, rubbing at his chin in thought. It wasn't exactly uncommon to have a wily one brought down to the Fortress of Meropide thinking they could game the system but this guy... Well, honestly the Duke was curious just why he was personally asked to keep an eye on this one. So far all he seemed to be was a little odd.

"Uhh... yeah, I would, actually. Little known fact: the day I was processed to serve my own sentence all those years ago- yes, those rumors are true- matches up with my records to have been my birthday so there's something we have in common if you aren't just lying through your teeth. That said, happy birthday- if it is your birthday- and welcome to the Fortress of Meropide! If you wanted to have a celebration above ground then you shouldn't have committed a crime."

@dragetunge : The smith always knew when the eye of the calvary captain was on him. Coming over to either bother or watch him while he worked. It has become a normal thing for him. One he didn't mind. Emerald hues glanced up from over his bench as a smile crossed his lips. "You know if you keep undressing me with your eye I might catch a cold~" he teased before going right back to work. (For Kaeya)

"Oh?" Not one to let himself be caught off guard, the most surprise that would be shown is the slight widening of an azure eye which would disappear as quickly as it came on. It's not like Hiccup was wrong, exactly. There was much appeal in watching an attractive smith at work hammering metals and stretching leather and whatever else would show off that deceptive strength and deft hands which had Kaeya's thoughts wandering once in a while, but if Hiccup wanted to start this game then the Cavalry Captain would have no issue joining in.

"Would you say the same of anyone admiring a sunset or getting lost in the way the sun's rays would sparkle on freshly fallen snow? It's only human to appreciate a handsome sight." Spurred on by the heat of the moment Kaeya casually sauntered over to close some of the distance between he and Hiccup, reaching out to hook a finger under the smith's chin to capture the attention that had so peskily wandered away from him.

"Besides..." He'd continue, eyeing Hiccup through fluttering lashes as he released just enough cryo from the tip of his finger to give the other's chin a teasing chill.

"I have plenty of reason to believe you like the cold."

"A plan?" Zhongli blinked owlishly, the thought having not occurred to him that perhaps this was a situation where mortals may indeed feel in need of such a thing. Though, when he'd stumbled upon this young man on his leisurely expedition into Sumeru he'd hardly given any consideration to the fact his own state of travel may be lacking by human standards. Not a single bag was in sight containing food or water on his person and he didn't recall grabbing his wallet either. All in all he must look like an inexperienced fool, but it was no concern to the old god.

"When one is far too preoccupied with details one may become blind to the grandeur of what lay in front of them. I simply set out for a stroll to see what I may encounter, no plan felt necessary at the time."

"C'mon, Troublemaker, you're gonna have to be faster than that! I may be older, but I'm not that slow." Wriothesley knew his hold on the younger man was tentative at best when Diluc was a wily one, but just before he'd slipped from the Duke's arms he'd be given a teasing little kiss to his cheek accompanied by a hearty laugh. There was just something special about Diluc that brought out some genuinely playful fun out of Wriothesley during these little late night spars in the Pankration Ring while everyone else in the Fortress of Meropide was either back in their assigned bunks or on their usual guard patrols.

"Woah! I thought we agreed to avoid the face. Playing dirty isn't cute!" But that aggravated furrow in Diluc's brow sure was. He was always so fierce and easy to rile from the very moment they'd met, but it was all seen as rather amusing even if Wriothesley didn't always have the easiest time keeping Diluc out of trouble while staying in such a convoluted place like Fontaine.

"I- oof!" He might've overdone the teasing because before he knew it he was pinned to the cold ground, Diluc's aggravated expression clear. Did Wriothesley regret it? Not really, it was still pretty cute. In fact, he kinda just wanted to push a little more because it couldn't possibly go too bad when Diluc had him on his back and held all the cards from this position-... or so he may think.

"Alright, alright, you got me. I surrender." Hands would open from where they were pinned to the mat, all intents and purposes being that he wasn't going to put up more of a fight, but the second he was given any slack, his hands would grab fistfuls of Diluc's shirt to drag him into what was quite possibly the worst kiss ever. Teeth clashed and Wriothesley tasted the blood of a probably split lip- from who he wasn't sure- but it didn't make it any less fun when things between them were always a little rough around the edges.

"You get enough of that energy out yet so we can get out of here, or what? Though, I guess there's other ways of tiring you out too, aren't there?"

@dragetunge : "Are you going to keep staring at me like that?" He questions Childe curiously. The other just was sitting there at his booth as he worked. "Aren't you going to be late for your date with Mr. Zhongli?"

"My date with-..." So suddenly snapped out of his observation, it took the Harbinger a second for him to catch onto what exactly he'd been asked when it had been rather unexpected, but the very moment the realization hit he was clutching his stomach in a full-bellied laugh.

"Oh my goodness, wow, it's definitely not the first time this has come up but it's still such a surprise when it does. Zhongli-xiansheng is a plenty appealing man, you wouldn't catch me denying that, but we're really just friends! No funny business there, I swear it on my honor as Her Royal Highness the Tsaritsa's Eleventh." Finally settling from his bout of laughter, he placed his hand over his heart in sincerity, always paying proper respects at the mention of his archon. But oh he'd have to bring this up at dinner for sure. Maybe he'd even get to see the old man just a little flustered over it.

"Have you really assumed that since the day we met? I guess I do spend quite a bit of time and Mora on him, but I'm sure it comes as no surprise that making friends as a Harbinger isn't the easiest thing to do, especially when I may or may not have instigated a bit of trouble in Liyue Harbor in the past. Zhongli's continued to welcome me back with open arms despite it, even if things were a bit complicated between us for a little while."

"While I would not be against a cup of tea I believe it may be untoward to so suddenly voice my complaints regarding my place of work or my employer." Zhongli sighed, fingers pinching at the bridge of his nose recalling all of the tasks he'd been made to complete today. However, despite what he'd just said, a rant began on its own anyway.

"I respect the work Director Hu and her ancestors have done for the whole of Liyue but that girl... I did not believe becoming a consultant on funeral rites would so often have me reduced to a mere errand boy sent off far and wide to retrieve various things. Some tasks do not even cater to Wangsheng at all, for there was a time I was tasked with assisting Chef Mao at Wanmin. I suppose I could not complain too much about that when young Xiangling certainly deserved to enjoy the festivities that day and I did get to spend time with an old friend but when have I ever given the impression I desire to work as a chef?"

Lyney shot them a charming smile in thanks before lavender eyes looked back to Fontaine's Iudex as he grabbed his plate of conch madeleines, normally he wouldn't eat sweets but he was making an exception today. "I'm sure others at the Palais would agree that you deserve it..." A small pause as he poured some jam over his dessert. "Or the Melusines."

"Hmmm." When was the last time he had ever indulged in such a thing? The thought would linger over a leisurely sip of his coffee but not a single time came to mind in the recent centuries since he'd dutifully taken up the mantle of Iudex of Fontaine. Taking a holiday... it was surely an intriguing proposition, but it was perhaps not suited to one such as himself.

"That is quite the proposal, Mr. Lyney, but I'm afraid that I would have to decline whether those in the Palais Mermonia were to agree with you or not. My duties are not those which can be so easily left to the wayside and I have taken it upon myself to oversee a specific investigation being carried out by the Marechaussee Phantom. It would be irresponsible of me to abandon it now." Where would he even go should he pursue such a thing? That line of thought was quickly abandoned with a curt shake of his head, gaze flitting toward where the Palais Mermonia stood as the jewel of the Court of Fontaine.

"Besides, there are sensitive matters I would prefer to oversee in the Opera Epiclese. Someone of the more eccentric variety is not exactly well known for her level-headedness in the court room."
